“A wonderful experience: our trip to Portsmouth”

We can say that our trip started on the plane: we screamed during the departure and we clapped at the pilot when landing, making the other passengers understand that we were Italians.

We showed our enthusiasm by singing and laughing on the bus to the ICE (International College of English): we were so excited at the view of Fort Purbrook. When we arrived we were welcomed by the rain (typical English weather!). Georgia, the vice director, was waiting for us. She showed us our rooms which were not exactly what we expected, but nice and cosy. We were then showed the whole college by the ICE staff, including the wonderful landscape that you can see from the entrance: it was utterly stunning.

We understood very soon the routine of the college: waking up at 7.30, breakfast at 8.15, lessons from 9.00 to 12.30, lunch, excursions during the afternoon and dinner at 7.30. Then, various activities in the evening. The English cooking has received our prickly comments since the beginning but in the end we appreciated it. We think that this experience has been amazing, and should be lived by everyone who loves England, its language and its culture. Those people won’t be disappointed!
